In this city in Ohio, running out of gas isn’t just inconvenient, it’s illegal.

Drivers have to think about the details adorning their dash when getting from A to B.

The rules affect congested areas in one particular city.

So, drivers in the Ohio city should take note of the small print.

It’s no secret that the US is a big place, with 50 states and a whole heap of road rules that are area specific.

For example, in the winter months, some residents have to be extra careful, as some states will fine you for driving with snow on your car.

Plus, you can only drive a Jeep Wrangler without doors in certain states.

But, just wait until you hear about this specific law.

In the state of Ohio, gas is a big deal.

In fact, not having enough could land you in hot water – and we all know that water and oil don’t mix, right?

In the city of Youngstown, it’s simply not allowed for drivers to run out of gas.

Legislation states that: “No person shall operate any vehicle within the congested district bounded by Chestnut, Walnut, Boardman and Commerce Streets without sufficient fuel to drive the vehicle from the district.”

So, it is highly advisable to keep a fuel can in the trunk, in case of an emergency.

“Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree,” it continues.

There are plenty of drivers in the state of Ohio that will no doubt need to take note of this.

Like this guy from Ohio, for instance, who took his Tesla Cybertruck into a tornado and was stunned by its performance.

Plus, these state troopers who investigated a barn find Chevy Chevelle.

When it comes to road rules, there are some pretty wild ones in various corners of the country, but this one does seem to make sense.

There’s nothing more annoying than being stuck behind a broken-down car.
