The Porsche 911 is said to retain value better than any other new car on the market.

But just why is this the case?

It’s all to do with hybrid cars keeping the value the best out of the bunch.

An insightful study revealed all, so get ready to be amazed as we explain the juicy details.

Porsche is a classic – if expensive- marque everyone loves

It’s no secret that the Porsche 911 is a popular auto

For any car lover, it’s a desired snap-up to add to their collection.

In fact, one European nation is so wealthy that it’s the best-selling car there.

Plus, even Bugatti loves the maker, and had new Bolide owners warm up in a Porsche 911 before hitting the track for an important reason.

But, did you also know that a 911 retains its value better than any other new car?

It’s all to do with depreciation rates

What’s depreciation, we hear you cry? Essentially, it’s the rate at which your car drops in value once you’ve driven away from the dealership.

And new cars are notorious for losing large amounts of their value in a very short amount of time.

Research carried out by iSeeCars indicated that over five years, the Porsche 911 had the lowest average depreciation figure, coming in at 19.5 percent.

Another Porsche vehicle was in second place too, with a rate of 21.8% – the 718 Cayman.

So overall, it seems like if you fancy getting the best bang for your resale buck, purchasing a Porsche is the way to do it.

The research also revealed some other interesting car facts

iSeeCars evaluated more than 800,000 used autos sold between the period between March 2024 and February 2025.

It found out that ‘every vehicle type is losing more value in 2025 than they did in 2023’.

In addition, hybrid vehicles have kept the closest to the peaks of value retention, which occurred during the COVID pandemic, with trucks also doing something similar.

On the other hand, the vehicle with the highest depreciation rate was the Jaguar I-PACE, with a 72.2% loss of value, surprising, right?

What other impressive features does the Porsche 911 have?

With supercars like the 911, you know you’re getting a whole host of amazing features for the rather large price tag.

For instance, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera has rear-wheel drive and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission meaning it can seriously move.

It also makes 388HP and even gets from 0-60MPH in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 183MPH.

It will, however, set you back at least $122,095.

We sure know what car to invest in now – but are you convinced?
