Porsche has just potentially made the Munich Motor Show a whole lot more interesting.

The Munich Motor Show kicks off next week in Bavaria, with several brands hoping to star in the showcase.

But Porsche might have just stolen the spotlight from all of its rivals, both foreign and domestic.

And that is because the Stuttgart brand has teased a potential hybrid 911 Turbo.

Porsche steals the show ahead of Munich Motor Show

As it always has, Porsche has set the supercar world on fire in the past couple of days.

And it is no coincidence that said announcement has come when it has.

That is because the world-famous Munich Motor Show is set to kick off next week.

The Bavarian showcase tends to highlight the latest and greatest from the world’s biggest brands.

And it now appears that Porsche has just teased a truly massive release.

For months now, a new, updated Porsche 911 Turbo has been rumoured to be in the works.

More importantly, this new 911 Turbo has been rumoured to be coming with a hybrid powertrain.

The models being released are expected to be both the facelifted 911 Turbo and Turbo S.

What could a hybrid 911 Turbo look like?

So, what exactly could a hybrid future for the 911 Turbo look like in this new era?

Well, it will likely irritate true 911 enthusiasts, but it could still be extremely exciting.

Porsche hasn’t hidden away from the 911 Turbo and Turbo S going hybrid.

This means that a new, hybrid 911 Turbo could follow the path of the 911 GTS.

That car currently comes with a 3.6-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine powerplant.

This powerplant is also paired with a 1.9kWh battery pack, as well as an eight-speed, dual-clutch transmission.

The system is then paired with a integrated motor that produces 54bhp on its own.

It all combines to produce a total power output of 532bhp, as well as 449lb-ft of torque.

When Porsche introduced the new-gen 911 GTS, the brand noted a power increase of 59bhp over the previous generation.

If such a power increase is applied to the hybrid 911 Turbo and Turbo S, power increases in the range of 630bhp and 700bhp could be expected.

Would a new, hybrid 911 Turbo from Porsche be enough to convince you to buy one?
