Why is Lamborghini called Lamborghini?
Lamborghini – or Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. to give it its official moniker – is a name we’re all familiar with, but you may be less familiar with its origins.
The brand was founded by Italian manufacturing magnate – and former mechanic – Ferruccio Lamborghini, who named it after himself.

Lamborghini set up the company as a rival to Ferrari after allegedly getting into a bit of a spat with Enzo Ferrari over the quality of his vehicles.
And the rest is history.
What year did Lamborghini start making cars?
Lamborghini was founded in 1963 with plans to produce a refined grand tourer that could compete with the likes of Ferrari.
The first ever Lamborghini was the 350 GTV – the prototype took just four months to create and it was first exhibited at the 1963 Turin Motor Show.
However, it wasn’t a hit for the marque and remained a one-off prototype.
Where are Lamborghini supercars built?
Lamborghini builds its vehicles in the Italian town of Sant’Agata Bolognese, which isn’t too far away from rival Ferrari’s hometown of Maranello.
Although built in Italy, Lamborghini has 180 dealerships across the globe, meaning – if you can afford to – you can get your hands on one just about wherever you are.

How many Lamborghini cars are built per year?
As you might have already guessed, for Lamborghini it’s quality over quantity every time.
But that’s not to say the carmaker isn’t busy – in 2021 Lamborghini enjoyed a record-breaking year, delivering 8,405 cars and in 2023 it surpassed this delivering more than 10,000 cars to its customers worldwide.
What notable car models does Lamborghini make?
Lamborghini currently produces the Urus – a luxury SUV powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine and the Revuelto – V12/electric hybrid.
From 2014 until last year, it was also producing the V-10 powered Lamborghini Huracán.
Other impressive models from the automaker over the years include the iconic Lamborghini Diablo and the Lamborghini Aventador, which was retired in 2022.
Which is the most expensive Lamborghini?
The most expensive Lamborghini ever made was the Lamborghini Veneno roadster which was introduced with a price tag of $4 million, making it one of the most expensive production cars in the world.
The Lamborghini Revuelto has a starting price of $608,358 – making it the priciest production car the marque is currently selling.
Which is the cheapest Lamborghini?
A 2025 Lamborghini Urus has a starting price of $241,843 – a lot more than most of us can afford, but a lot less than that Veneno or Revuelto.

What is the fastest Lamborghini?
The 2020 Lamborghini Aventado Ultimae has the highest top speed – a staggering 221mph.
But the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto has the fastest 0 to 60mph time with just 2.4 seconds.
And if you’re thinking about the fastest over the quarter mile, that title belongs to the 2018 Lamborghini Huracan Performante with a time of 10.2 seconds.
Which Lamborghini concept car should you know about?
Lamborghini has several unbelievable concept cars, but the Lamborghini Terzo Millenni stands out.
The EV concept pulls the iconic Italian marque firmly into the future with its eye-catching looks and innovative design, which includes a body that generates energy for the car, and self-healing carbon fiber.
