Heesen Yachts has launched Project Orion, a $45 million hybrid superyacht that sets a new standard for quiet luxury at sea.

This 164-foot hybrid is the shipbuilder’s third launch of 2025 and one of its quietest yet.

Thanks to a cutting-edge propulsion system, it can cruise silently at up to 10 knots.

Sustainability, silence, and style come together in one extraordinary package.

Designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, Orion turns heads with its near-vertical bow and sharp spray rails.

The lines are sleek but powerful, giving her a bold presence on the water.

Inside, Cristiano Gatto Design worked its magic.

The interior features 37 unique materials, like Italian marble, woven leather, and glossy woods.

While the Orion is technically a vessel, it feels more like a floating mansion.

The 499 GT superyacht hosts up to 12 guests in six elegant staterooms.

One of the highlights is the wellness area: a 26-square-meter retreat with a sauna, gym, and shower-equipped day head.

It is essentially a floating mansion with its own spa.

Up top, the sundeck is built for both peace and parties.

There are plush sunpads and a whirlpool set forward for extra privacy.

When it’s time to entertain, the space transforms—add a wet bar, dining table, and lounges, and you’ve got a sky-high celebration zone.

Under the hood, Orion runs on two MTU 12V 2000 M61 (IMO III) engines.

She reaches a top speed of 16.3 knots and cruises across oceans with ease.

At 12 knots, she burns just under 26 gallons of fuel per hour, offering an impressive range of 3,750 nautical miles.

Dropping to 10 knots in hybrid mode means the ship burns less than 12 gallons per hour, which is impressive cost savings considering how much it can cost to fill up a superyacht.

With its whisper-quiet hybrid system, sleek design, and thoughtful luxury, Project Orion isn’t just a yacht, but a dream you can sail.
