An urban explorer who was checking out an old abandoned mansion discovered a DIY tank in the basement.
YouTuber Steve Ronin and his crew went out to the mansion, which is reportedly worth around $20 million.
The property looked as though it was hastily abandoned and was still strewn with various items belonging to the previous owner, including furniture, an old BMW, and erm…a tank.

The urban explorer found plans and blueprints for the tank
Previous urban explorers have found all manner of weird and wonderful things, such as this deserted mansion in the woods with a stunning abandoned car outside and this $10m abandoned mansion where luxury cars and designer shoes were left to rot.
In the case of Ronin, he discovered a bunch of blueprints for a tank as well as various parts and pieces for it, including what looked to be a complete ‘outer shell’.
“He was really planning to make a tank in secret, in his basement,” Ronin said as he approached what appeared to be an almost full-sized body.
The bodywork of the unusual DIY project was made of wood, painted a deep blue color, with a black and white cross symbol on the side.
“He basically got done with the outer shell,” Ronin noted as he knocked on the back of the tank.
The wooden structure was sat upon a metal frame and the whole thing was clearly unfinished, which really just raises more questions, doesn’t it?
It’s unclear why the mansion was abandoned
“This is a Tiger Tank he was literally trying to make,” Ronin added before he suggested that the wooden body may have just been a ‘draft’ before the creator began crafting something out of metal.
Military fans among you may know that the Tiger was a German vehicle used in World War II.
It weighed around 54 tonnes; it measured 6.316 meters (20ft 8.7in) long and 3.56 meters (11ft 8in) wide and could fit five crew members.
As Ronin continued to check out the room, parts, blueprints and books about the tank could be seen, showing that whoever the original owner was, clearly meant business.
It’s unclear why the project – and the mansion – were abandoned but you have to admit it’s a pretty cool find.
