This Detroit water main flooded and saw freezing cars as a result

When it comes to driving, the weather can seriously affect the conditions of the road and the way vehicles can be used.

From hot weather making roads steam to deep snow, meaning that cars can’t safely take to the road, car owners have lots to consider during every single season, from autumn through to summer.

But freezing temperatures could be the worst condition of all, especially when other factors come into play too.

In Detroit, freezing cars became a new issue for drivers to deal with after a water main burst, leaving car owners quite literally frozen in time.

The incident was reported on by FOX 2 Detroit news channel, who were equipped to explore the area that was submerged in water.

Residents’ vehicles were simply frozen and mostly underwater following the water main break, and thanks to freezing temperatures, the cars were unusable.

The cars in the Southwest area of the city were pictured by a helicopter circling the area as rescue crews were on standby.

But hey, at least residents with boats in the garage could make use of their craft closer to home, so it wasn’t all bad.

The city of Detroit is bursting at the seams with car enthusiasts

The US is renowned for its rich car history, but the state of Michigan is brimming with car-loving residents.

Even the cops feel the love, with the Detroit Chief of Police sharing how his ingrained love of muscle cars helps keep the streets safe.

Celebrities love the area too, with a 1966 V8 Chrysler having cruised the streets with Bruce Lee at the wheel, who utilized the movie-style gadgets.
