Alpine's insane new supercar concept the A4810 was designed by students

Alpine has just released a “futuristic, hydrogen-powered, two-seater supercar” concept called the A4810.

And it’s got some serious smarts behind it, with the concept designed by a group of Masters students studying transportation design at Istituto Europeo di Design (IED).

The 28 students were asked to showcase their concept of sportiness with the A4810 project.

Not only does it look incredible and powerful, but it’s also environmentally friendly – offering a glimpse into the future of supercars.

The A4810 takes inspiration from Formula 1 cars throughout its curvaceous design and angled body styling.

It is called the A4810 because ‘4810’ is the height (in metres) of Mont Blanc – the highest and most iconic peak in the Alps that sits at the border between Italy and France, acting like a bridge connecting IED and Alpine.

To back up that claim even more, the brand, Alpine, is named after the very same mountains and evokes the joy of driving along their winding roads.

“Collaboration with the Istituto Europeo di Design and its students has been a great experience,” Alpine design director Antony Villain said.

“It was a ‘filter’ for us to see the brand through the eyes of the younger generation, but it was also an opportunity to share our passion and know-how, and give them sound advice for a successful career in automotive design.”
