This $199 Timex Q watch is so hyped there is a constant waitlist.
The Swiss-made watch is a reissue of the original Q collection from the 1970s.
The style channels the stainless steel vibes of the Rolex Submariner, and it’s a smash hit with watch fans.
The launch was so successful that Timex added two GMT watches to the collection, and they cost $199 and $219.

The problem is you can’t buy a Timex Q yet because there’s a ‘waitlist’.
Speaking to Supercarblondie.com, Timex said the reason why there’s a waiting list is they simply can’t keep up with demand.
The brand also said it can’t confirm when the watches will be available again.
So the only thing you can do is keep an eye on the website Timex.com, and leave your email to be notified when it’s in stock again.
The 38mm watch is powered by a simple quartz module, you can easily change the battery with a simple screwdriver.
It is currently available with either a stainless steel bracelet or a black rubber strap.
The stainless steel model can be had with either a blue-red bezel or a blue-black bezel.
The version with the rubber strap has a blacked-out bezel with a dark grey case.
All three models feature a GMT function, allowing you to keep track of two different time zones at the time with a 24-hour rotating bezel and an extra hand alongside the seconds and minutes hand.
The rubber strap model costs $199, while the stainless steel costs $219.
The Casioak and MoonSwatch trend
The Timex Q follows the trend of the ‘Casioak’ and the ‘MoonSwatch’ – affordable watches that look a lot like iconic (and hugely expensive) watches.
The Casioak, officially known as the GA-2100, was launched in late 2019 by Casio’s G-Shock division.
It came with an octagonal bezel, hence the nickname ‘Casioak’ – a reference to the famous shape of the collector’s dream – the AP Royal Oak.
It was cheap, only $99 at retail.
But the problem was you couldn’t get it anywhere – it was permanently sold out – and it began trading for big money on second-hand websites.
The MoonSwatch (officially called the Swatch X Omega MoonSwatch) also sold out everywhere immediately when it was released earlier this year.
It is a plastic, battery-powered watch that looks like the $5,000 Omega Speedmaster.
It says ‘Omega Speedmaster’ on the dial, but it only costs US$250.
