This is the VonMercier Arosa, a sports luxury hovercraft that was designed to look like a road-going supercar.
It’s made entirely out of carbon fiber and will set you back $100,000.

According to VonMercier, the US firm that built it, most people generally don’t associate hovercraft vehicles with the luxury world.
The company wanted to change that.

The designers started by giving the Arosa Hovercraft a sleek, sportscar-shaped body with a pointy front end, side intakes and side skirts.
It also has an open-top cockpit with two seats; the driving seat and the passenger behind it.
The Arosa is powered by an electric powertrain that gives it a top speed of 80 mph and a range of 120 miles when traveling at an average 40 mph.
The top speed varies depending on the surface you’re driving on.
It can take just about anything you might throw at it because it rides on air cushions that allow it glide across gravel, tarmac, sand, and of course water.
It is also especially easy to maneuver because VonMercier fitted a new directional control system that the company has invented and patented, allowing you to drive the hovercraft in reverse as well as laterally.

CEO of VonMercier Michael Mercier has a point when he says that hovercrafts usually don’t spring to mind when talking about luxury vehicles.
In fact, it’s fair to say that when you put the words “water” and “luxury vehicle” in the same sentence most people will think of yachts and that’s it.
This hovercraft will certainly change that.
