The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster is one of the most impressive cars revealed at this year’s Monterey Car Week.
Priced from $3 million, just 30 will be made.
Oh yeah, and it’s likely to be the world’s fastest convertible.
Supercar Blondie’s Alex Hirschi was lucky enough to get to check it out in Monterey, California.

While we covered the Venom F5 Roadster when it first launched, Alex found a few hidden features on it that you might miss at first glance.
For starters, at the front of the Venom, the headlights are F-shaped as a nod to its name.
At the back, the taillights are special as well.

They’re hollow in the center as they incorporate ducts that disperse heat from the engine.
The engine itself is blinged out as well, as the heat insulation on its air intakes is gold.
On the sides, the Venom F5 Roadster has butterfly doors which are opened by pressing hidden buttons.
Without conventional door handles, it’s not only better looking but more aerodynamic as well.
The doors are incredibly light as well as they – like the rest of its body – are made of carbon fiber, which helps keep its weight to just 1406kg (3100lbs).
Inside the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster
Inside, you’ll instantly notice the F5 Roadster’s D-shaped Formula 1-style steering wheel.
The steering wheel features all of the car’s buttons from the headlights to the ignition.
The climate controls are the only other controls of note, but they’re very minimalist.
It’s just one dial in the middle of the cabin with a small, round touchscreen in the middle.
Throughout the rest of the cabin, it’s incredibly clean and stripped back, showing off its carbon fiber underpinning.
But of course, there’s a little plaque in the middle letting you know you’re in a one-of-30 car.
The one Alex saw was, of course, car number one.
Other small details include flags printed on the interior door pulls.
This car features the American flag on one and the Texas flag on the other, but these can be customized for each buyer.
There’s also a small Texas flag on the seats to serve as a reminder of where this car is made.
The F5 Roadster is the world’s fastest convertible… probably
With 1817hp (1355kW) on offer from a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8, the Venom F5 is aiming to be the world’s fastest convertible.
It’s likely that Hennessey has the record in the bag, however, as it already holds that record.
The company’s 2016 Venom GT Spyder was able to hit a top speed of 427.4km/h (265.6mph) – record which has yet to be eclipsed.
However, Hennessey is targeting a top speed north of 483km/h (300mph) for the F5 Roadster.
