The iconic Renault 4 is back with a crazy rally makeover.
And this is more than just a show car, because it paves the way for a new generation of rugged off-roading vehicles for Renault.

Officially known as the ‘4Ever Trophy’, this concept was created to celebrate the 25h anniversary of the 4L Trophy Humanitarian Rally.

Design-wise, it comes in as a retro-futuristic Dakar-style rally car.
At the front, the prominent hood stands out, as does the aggressive market.
At the rear, Renault 4L fans will recognize the iconic trapezoidal windows and rear bumper.
Renault has already made it clear that it wants to build additional production compact vehicles alongside the Clio and the Captur.
The new Renault 4 and 5 are an integral part of this new strategy.
They’ll both be built using Renault’s new platform that was developed specifically for all-electric cars.
This is an attempt to combine sales with critical success.
The market is currently littered with SUVs, in all shapes and sizes.
They all sell well but they’re mostly boring, and that’s where the Renault 4 and 5 step in.
The bad news is we shouldn’t hold our breath for these cars to be mass-produced because we’ll be waiting a few years.
About the Renault 4
First launched in 1961, the Renault 4 is arguably one of the most iconic Renault models ever.
It is also one of the most successful: the company sold more than eight million units over 33 years.
Even though it was also available as a pick-up truck and a van, most people remember the 5-door version.
And that’s the model that Renault is planning to bring back.
