next James Bond

Now that the Daniel Craig era is officially over, James Bond producers are hard at work trying to lock down the next actor to play the world’s most famous spy.

Several Hollywood A-listers have been linked to the part, but one name appears to be rising to the top of the list.

From the new cast to the 007 gadgets, let’s have a look at what we can expect from the new James Bond movie.

The Actors

The star that’s going to replace Daniel Craig is going to have some big shoes to fill.

Partly because Craig was by far the most successful Bond at the box office, and also because producers say the next actor is going to play James Bond for (at least) 10 years.

CHECK THIS OUT!

Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Henry Cavill have been mentioned several times.

However, numerous reports have singled out Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the new favorite.

According to rumors, the 32-year-old actor has impressed studio director Barbara Broccoli during a ‘secret’ audition at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

Taylor-Johnson has already starred in a spy action film (Tenet), and he’s also worked alongside Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock in the 2022 action comedy flick ‘Bullet Train’.

He is six years younger than Daniel Craig was when he first played Bond in the 2006 film Casino Royale.

Considering his model-like face and slim physique, Taylor-Johnson’s James Bond would likely be a bit more polished when compared to Daniel Craig’s interpretation.

The Cars

As we all know, the 007 saga is inextricably linked to Aston Martin.

The latest 007 movie No Time To Die featured four Astons from three different eras.

In addition to the iconic 1965 Aston Martin DB5, the movie included two modern-day supercars, the DBS Superleggera and the Valhalla.

In the film, Craig also drove the iconic V8 Vantage from the 1980s.

We can expect the next James Bond film to include the DBX, Aston’s first SUV, and possibly the Valkyrie hypercar.

The Gadgets

The Daniel Craig era was characterized by the absence of improbable, over-the-top gadgets.

Instead, production opted for real-world accessories and weapons.

The characters themselves address this in the 2012 movie Skyfall, almost breaking the fourth wall.

In the film, Q (Ben Whishaw) gives James Bond a 9mm handgun and a radio transmitter.

James Bond says: “A gun, and a radio. Not exactly Christmas, is it?”

To which Q replies: “Were you expecting an exploding pen? We don’t really go in for that anymore.”

This is unlikely to change because crazy gadgets are a bit ‘last season’.

However, we can expect some futuristic, geeky technology in future films.

And, of course, a lot of Omega watches.
