This is the new Radical SR XX3.

We don’t want to resort to cheesy and cheap puns but what this car can do is in fact radical.

We’ll explain why.

This is a street legal car but, as you can probably see from the pictures, Radical prioritized performance and fun over everything else.

Thanks to its lightweight construction, the SR3 tips the scales at just 1,466 lbs.

For the record, a 2022 MINI Cooper S is twice as heavy.

Unfortunately, Radical hasn’t released any official performance figures yet.

However, the old model, which was less powerful, was capable of accelerating from standstill to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.

That’s faster than most Lamborghinis and Ferraris, including the California T.

Precisely because the SR3 is so light, Radical could get away with fitting a minute engine.

Underneath the trunk, you’ll find a simple 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine delivering 232 hp.

And it runs on biofuel, too.

Which is always a plus.

The bad news is you don’t get much in the way of luxury.

The interior is utilitarian and simple, equipped with bucket seats and nothing but a small infotainment screen.

Radical says production of the SR3 is expected to begin in February 2023.

And it won’t be cheap.

Pricing is yet to be announced, but expect it to be somewhere north of $100,000.

About Radical Motorsport

Founded in 1997, Radical Motorsport is a small-batch sports cars manufacturer based in the UK.

The company built several race-ready vehicles, including Le Mans race cars.

However, despite the crazy looks and performance figures, most Radical cars are actually street legal.

Radical relies on outstanding power-to-weight ratio for its cars rather than brute force.

And it works, because most Radical models can easily beat supercars off the line.
