The design language is akin to that of Lucid Air, but unlike Lucid Air, BYD said it used dragons as an inspiration.

Overall, the Han presents itself as a sleek, slender sedan with sharp headlamps at the front, ‘gills’ on the c-pillar, and unique taillights that BYD calls ‘Dragon Claws’.

CHECK THIS OUT!

BYD actually stands for Build Your Dreams and the company decided to apply the full name, not just the acronym, on the tailgate.

A nice reminder for cars sitting behind you at the lights, right?

This car is a tech fest and honestly we don’t even know where to start.

For example, it can be used to plug in a standard home socket.

That means you can stop by the side of the road, plug in your espresso machine and enjoy a cup of coffee literally on the go.

This car is also a karaoke joint on wheels.

Karaoke is super popular in China and other parts of Asia so BYD decided to give the Han its own karaoke mic.

It is slotted in the center console, but you can remove it, bluetooth it, play your favorite song through the infotainment system and sing along.

Sergi gave it a go with Hello by Adele – don’t worry, you can feel free to put that particular part of the video on mute.

BYD HAN EV interior

Open the door, and you’ll find plenty of Nappa leather and carbon fiber in front of you.

And the crazy thing about it is that BYD makes (nearly) everything in-house.

For the cabin, BYD decided to use a combo of touchscreens, old-fashioned buttons and voice activation.

Several features including the power windows can be activated through voice control.

The infotainment screen actually rotates with a push of a button and it can be used as a camera and a video game console.

Yep, this car is a karaoke machine on wheels, a gaming console and it can even take selfies.

BYD HAN EV performance

The range-topping BYD HAN EV delivers 629 hp and it is capable of accelerating from standstill to 60 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds.

It has a range of 340 miles – or 550 km.

If you’re okay with a little less power but want more range, you can opt for the Extended Range version, with a range of 376 miles (605 km).

About BYD

Some people may have never heard of BYD but they’re actually the largest EV manufacturer in the world.

BYD sold over 1.9 million vehicles in 2022, half a million more than Tesla.

Price

For now, the BYD Han is not available in the US but it is available in Europe with an MSRP of €72,000 – or $78,000 at today’s rate.
