Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo PrimaSerie

Maserati has announced a limited production anniversary special for the launch of the new GranTurismo.

Based on the ICE-powered Trofeo variant, the Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo PrimaSerie will be limited to just 150 units.

It will be available in two trims, too, but more on those later.

So, what’s with the name?

Well, ‘PrimaSerie’ is Italian for first edition, and this particular model was created to celebrate 75 years of Maserati grand tourers.

Available in two color configurations (75 units of each), the Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo PrimaSerie receives distinct accents and some special touches on the inside, too.

CHECK THIS OUT!

The first option, inspired by Maserati’s racing heritage, is finished in Grigio Lamiera Matte with contrasting Corse Red accents on the emblems, side gills, and around the black-finished alloy wheels.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, the second option is the color-changing Nero Scarabeo Matte combined with Mint Green accents.

Whichever configuration you chose, there’s carbon fiber bits on the intakes, lip spoiler, and diffuser.

What it’s like inside

Inside the cabin, there’s a combination of Black and Ice leather upholstery, with either Corse Red or Mint Green stitching and details to match the exterior.

Other nice touches include the 75th-anniversary logo embedded on all four headrests, finished in the same color as the GranTurismo badge on the dashboard.

There’s a generous smattering of equipment on offer, too, including a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, 8.8-inch touchscreen for climate controls, a digital clock, and Sonus Faber audio system.

It doesn’t look like the Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo PrimaSerie has received any mechanical upgrades, so it’ll be powered by the same Nettuno V6 that also powers the MC20.

In the GranTurismo Trofeo it develops 550 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, sprinting from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).

Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo PrimaSerie price

Maserati hasn’t announced pricing for the limited-run model, but it’s sure to be more expensive than the standard Trofeo, which starts at €226,000 ($245,393) in Italy.
