Disney Plus is reportedly working on a new mystery series based on Star Wars and rumour has it Jon Watts is in talks to direct the Pilot episode.

Watts is an incredibly talented and sought-after director.

He’s currently working on the upcoming Fantastic Four movie and a new thriller starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt for Apple TV.

He’s also co-producing the sixth installment of the Final Destination series.

Watts, 40, made a name for himself in the early 2000s, directing a plethora of music videos for artists including Aqualung, Fatboy Slim and Swedish House Mafia.

After his directorial debut in 2014 with the horror film ‘Clown’, his breakthrough came in 2017 when he directed Spider-Man: Homecoming.

He’s since directed two more iterations of the Spider-Man franchise: Far From Home, 2019 and No Way Home, 2021.

As for the new Star Wars series (codenamed ‘Grammar Rodeo’), Watts will likely work with executive producer Jon Favreau to create a series based on the multimedia project Star Wars: The High Republic.

Fingers crossed.
