American muscle faced off against Italian hybrid engineering when the C8 Corvette took on the Lamborghini Revuelto in a quarter-mile race.
The Corvette ZR1 features a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, while the Revuelto uses a naturally aspirated V12 assisted by electric motors.
Both cars exceed 1,000 horsepower, offering a direct comparison between two very different approaches to speed.
The result gave a clear look at how each car puts its power to the ground.

Corvette’s turbo V8 against Revuelto’s hybrid setup
The video, posted by DragTimes on YouTube, shows the C8 Corvette ZR1 lining up against the Lamborghini Revuelto in a side-by-side quarter-mile drag race.
The C8 Corvette ZR1 is built around a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque.
In independent testing, it clocked a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.2 seconds and completed a quarter-mile in 9.5 seconds at 149 mph.
These figures place it in the same bracket as some of the most expensive performance cars on the market.
The Lamborghini Revuelto takes a different path. It combines a 6.5-liter V12 engine with three electric motors for a total output of 1,015 horsepower.

Two motors power the front wheels, and a third works with the rear axle through the transmission.
This layout gives the Revuelto all-wheel drive and strong acceleration from a standstill.
When the two cars met on the drag strip, the Revuelto launched quickly thanks to its electric motors and grip from all four wheels.
The C8 Corvette, which is rear-wheel drive, had a slower start but gained ground steadily.
By the end of the run, the Corvette pulled ahead and crossed the finish line first.
American muscle versus Lamborghini’s hybrid direction
The C8 Corvette shows how far American muscle has come using traditional engineering, high-output engines, refined aerodynamics, and weight management.
It’s a car built around pushing the limits of combustion without relying on modern electric support.
Lamborghini, on the other hand, is using the Revuelto as a benchmark for its future.

The hybrid system is part of a long-term move to reduce emissions while preserving performance.
By adding electric motors, Lamborghini improves response and traction without losing the sound and feel of a V12.
The race result doesn’t settle any larger debate, but it does underline where both brands stand today.
The C8 Corvette proves that American muscle can still dominate in a straight-line sprint.
The performance gap between combustion and electrification continues to narrow, with hybrid platforms like the Lamborghini Revuelto setting a precedent for where supercar development might be heading.
