This Pontiac Firebird was hidden away for years in the depths of the Golden State, but now the muscle car is ready to take flight once more.

The muscle car from 1970 is in pretty good condition despite its hiatus from the road and is a perfect project for a lover of all things vintage.

Up for auction at no reserve, the car could be a steal with a working engine glowing beneath the hood.

Surprisingly, though, it’s not the only relic of recent muscle car times that has been rediscovered, with many barn finds taking centre stage online.

Hidden Pontiac Firebird ready to take flight again

Many cars that go up for auction are often in a bad way, with substantial work needed in order for them to hit the open road again.

But, in a unique listing, one 1970s Pontiac Firebird is up for auction, and you won’t believe the condition of the car.

The bright red Pontiac has been hidden away for years, but now the Firebird is ready to fly off into the sunset with a brand new owner.

“The original engine and transmission are still in it, and the engine runs with no noise,” stated the listing.

According to the seller, the car will need its fuel system rebuilt and a tune of the ignition for it to be fighting fit once more, after all, it hasn’t actually been driven in over 20 years.

Of course, the car will need some work on both the interior and exterior, too, with evident rust and a buildup of dust inside the cabin.

“The Formula hood was added at some time, and it looks like it had accident repair in the passenger door and quarter,” the listing continued.

The current owner also revealed that the car is a salvage title, but with no evidence of frame damage, they said they were confused as to why it was salvaged in the first place.

“Overall, it’s a complete car that could be easily turned into a driver, and it’s a really solid car,” concluded the seller.

Currently, the highest bid sits at $3,050.00, so be quick if you fancy snapping it up for yourself.

The Firebird isn’t the only muscle car that’s recently been uncovered

The muscle car era of the late 1960s and 70s brought some powerful cars into production, but years later, it seems that many have remained hidden.

Now, as the years have flown by, lots of vehicles have been uncovered by explorers and sellers, hoping to revive them into the 21st century.

Take this 1968 Camaro Z/68, for example; it emerged from a barn along with its original V8 in tow.

Plus, a Dodge Charger 500 Hemi from 1969 was discovered in one of the most extraordinary finds yet.
