A builder has created a 3D-printed, off-road Dodge Viper.

And he has been testing it in the California mountains.

It’s the culmination of a long-running project.

And it has gained more than a bit of widespread attention.

YouTuber creates off-road Dodge Viper?!

It’s fair to say that the Dodge Viper suits a particular purpose.

But nobody has probably ever imagined it as an off-road machine.

Well, it turns out that one American YouTuber actually did.

The project in question is the brainchild of YouTuber SuperfastMatt.

For the past couple of years, Matt has been working on his Dodge Viper.

But it hasn’t been developed or crafted for the drag strip or the track.

Instead, it has been built as an…off-road car?

Matt has completely transformed the V10 sports car into a trail-ready beast.

In case you were wondering, this Dodge Viper was built with a very unique process.

It was, in fact, built through extensive 3D scanning, custom fabrication, and repurposed engineering ideas from other vehicles.

Of course, such a project has gained widespread attention from across the car world.

Matt engineered an entirely new off-road setup using handmade components.

The front suspension, for example, takes inspiration from a Ford Bronco.

But Matt built the parts entirely by hand – and by himself.

Much of the geometry and design was altered digitally before anything was built.

Does the 3D-printed off-roader perform?

What is interesting is that the Dodge Viper was recently put through its paces once again.

This time, it went on a demanding run in the California mountains.

Despite its original purpose, the 3D-printed, off-road machine handled the run extremely well.

Aside from some minor setbacks, the project is performing much better than expected.

The more major problems were concerned with the original design of the Dodge Viper itself.

One immediate issue was the large fiberglass hood, which flexed severely while off-road.

It led to cracking paint and contact with surrounding panels.

Another annoying issue was dust intrusion into the Viper’s cabin.

Matt remedied this with the installation of a K&N filter.

The YouTuber also used 3D printing on the interior to solve smaller issues.

This included fashioning a custom cup holder to keep his water safe and secure.

We’re extremely impressed with Matt’s Dodge Viper project, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
