The Hyundai IONIQ 9 is a seven-seat luxury EV that can park itself with the touch of a button on the key fob.

It’s the most expensive Hyundai in the lineup and the biggest electric vehicle the brand has built so far.

The Hyundai IONIQ 9 also delivers the longest range Hyundai offers in an EV, with up to 600km or about 373 miles.

After getting behind the wheel of the futuristic EV, there were a couple of features that stood out above the rest.

New features in the Hyundai IONIQ 9

The Hyundai IONIQ 9 represents a clear shift for the brand.

Hyundai has traditionally focused on value and volume, but this luxury EV moves into territory shared with premium manufacturers.

The full-size SUV body and three-row layout place the seven-seat EV into a higher-priced segment.

Power comes from a dual electric motor setup paired with a large battery.

Hyundai claims a driving range of up to 600km, or around 373 miles.

That figure places the Hyundai IONIQ 9 among the longer-range options in the luxury EV category, particularly for a vehicle of this size and weight.

Large electric SUVs can be difficult to park accurately, and Hyundai wanted to address this.

Self-parking is included as standard, and drivers can even hold the park button on the key to move the Hyundai IONIQ 9 forward or backward into a space (you can watch it in action in the video at the top of the story).

The self-parking system manages steering, braking, and speed using cameras and sensors, which helps control the vehicle’s size in tight spaces.

Here’s what you’ll find inside the Hyundai IONIQ 9

Inside, the Hyundai IONIQ 9 carries the most extensive feature list Hyundai has ever offered.

Large digital displays handle infotainment and driving information, while physical buttons remain for key functions.

It also comes with heated and ventilated seating, power adjustment across multiple rows, a panoramic roof, and advanced driver assistance systems.

The Hyundai EV also allows buyers to choose between six-seat and seven-seat layouts.

The Hyundai IONIQ 9 enters a field with few direct rivals and challenges established luxury EV models on specification rather than badge prestige.

Buyer expectations in the luxury EV market continue to evolve.

Range, interior space, and ease of use now carry as much weight as acceleration or styling.

By offering a seven-seat EV with up to 600km, or 373 miles, of claimed range, the Hyundai IONIQ 9 sets a new benchmark for the brand.

Comprehensive features and straightforward self-parking proves Hyundai is now competing at the top end of the electric market.
