A normal suburban house doesn’t usually come with a Ford GT or a Porsche in the living room.

But outside Chicago, there’s a place that looks completely ordinary until you walk through the door.

Inside, the whole space tilts toward horsepower, design, and a couple who didn’t want their collection hidden away.

They call it Fastlane… and the name certainly fits.

How this Illinois home became a car showcase featuring a Ford GT

Fastlane started with two longtime enthusiasts who decided their Mundelein, Illinois, house should reflect the machines they love.

So they brought in Chicago’s Goesling Group and redesigned the entire 6,000-square-foot space around their collection.

The main floor now displays three sports cars, including a Ford GT and a Porsche, set into the living area like modern art.

Downstairs, things get even more serious.

The lower level is a fully operational workshop with an exhaust extraction system, epoxy floors, and a multi-position lift that can ferry a car straight up into the main living space.

And with more than 50 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, the couple even employs a full-time mechanic to keep everything running.

Automotive cues shape the interior: chrome details, smoked glass, concrete floors stained for durability, and a coffee table built from a vintage motorcycle engine.

But somehow, all those pieces slot together so naturally that the house feels curated, not themed.

Like the cars were always meant to live here.

You’ll find photos of it all here.

The automotive energy continues throughout the property

Even with all the metal and machinery, Fastlane doesn’t feel cold.

The palette leans toward soft, dusty tones inspired by desert landscapes, with natural wood and leather grounding the rooms.

And outside, the home settles back into its suburban surroundings.

There’s lush landscaping, a covered outdoor kitchen, and a pool lined with loungers – a surprisingly calm contrast to the high-octane interior.

Fastlane isn’t pretending to be subtle; it wears its personality on its sleeve.

It’s a house built around a passion, where every corner feels like part of the story instead of a set piece.
