This off-road Shelby Mustang concept car could come to life – but only if people really want it enough.
The concept is based on the auto from 1999’s The Thomas Crown Affair.
It features some unique style points and carries quite the impressive front profile.
But it will only come into the real world if enough gearheads say yes.

Concept cars are a fun way to bring imaginative innovation to life and take vehicles to a whole new level.
Our very own Alex Hirschi, AKA Supercar Blondie, even showed off a Lincoln concept that could be controlled with a Lincoln-shaped crystal – as seen in the video above. Cool, right?
One guy discovered a rare concept model left untouched for years – an AC 3000 ME.
Once you see this new model though, your mind may well be blown – much like ours was.
The car in question is an Off-Road Shelby Mustang

It’s actually a tribute to the Thomas Crown Mustang – AKA the 1968 Shelby Mustang GT350 – that Pierce Brosnan drove in heist movie The Thomas Crown Affair.
Well, even though the car hasn’t made its way into the real world just yet. But if enough film fans take a liking to it, the Mustang could come our way.
The Shelby Mustang concept has cool features
Made by Loder 1899, it has some slick additions to its body and is described by the company itself as being ‘a unique fusion of power and style’.
On the outside, its mean, green, machine look has wide fenders and off-road tires for gripping adventures. And it bears a striking resemblance to that Shelby GT350.
In fact, Ford notes that the Shelby GT350 is ‘designed to achieve lightning-fast performance’. Which sounds like a great basis for a concept model to us.
Plus, the new motor design has custom suspension for roads and other terrain if exploring is your kind of thing.
So if you’ve just got to have it, you need to let Ford know – because if enough gearheads scream loud enough, the Shelby could very well land on your driveway soon.
You could even cosplay as Pierce Brosnan in your spare time – it’s all up to you.
What movie is the car based on?
Based on The Thomas Crown Affair, the car encapsulated the 1999 movie to a T with old money inspiration coming into the 21st century.
A remake of the 1960s film of the same name, and centered around a wealthy thief, the Mustang just looks super cool all the way through both movies.
So, will you nab one if it ever hits the market?
Because if we could, we definitely would.
