A Texas salesman has confirmed what BMW fans have been waiting to hear – the M5 Touring is finally coming to America.

The high-performance wagon was never offered in the US, despite years of demand from enthusiasts.

Europe got the M3 and M5 wagons, while American buyers were left to find alternatives.

Now those alts have some new competition.

BMW finally listened and brought the M5 to America

For decades, American buyers begged BMW for a performance wagon, but the brand refused.

While Europe got the M3 and M5 Touring, the US market was left empty-handed.

In the meantime, Audi’s RS6 Avant became a smash hit on both the new and used market, and Mercedes’ AMG E63 S wagon built a cult following of its own.

Now BMW’s finally caved.

The M5 Touring has landed in the US, and it isn’t pulling punches.

Under the hood sits a twin-turbo V8 paired with hybrid power for a total of 717 horsepower.

The example shown off in Texas, via @movingmerch on Instagram, came finished in Brooklyn Gray, paired with a contrasting red-and-black interior.

The wagon wars just got real

Audi’s RS6 Avant has been holding down the wagon crown in the States for years, thanks to its blend of performance and daily-drive practicality.

Mercedes never abandoned the format either, keeping its AMG E63 S wagon alive for the faithful.

BMW, though, was the last holdout – the one brand enthusiasts thought would never budge.

But with the 2025 M5 Touring, that’s changed.

The US finally has all three heavyweights in the same ring, and fans are already choosing sides.

The comments on the Instagram video show everyone in disagreement.

“RS6 Avant better trust,” one user said.

While others mused the M5 ‘would look great’ in their garages.

The arrival of BMW’s long-denied wagon is shaking up the scene and the debate is only just starting.

US fans have waited longer than anyone else, but the payoff looks worth it.

Now it’s officially war between BMW, Audi, and Mercedes.

And if you’re a wagon lover, that’s the best news you’ve heard in years.
