A woman needed a rental vehicle and chose a mystery car from Avis, but was stunned by the Ford that they gave her.

TikTok user Annie, AKA @unotheunit, posted a clip of her story on the social media platform, where she discussed the rental car and what happened.

The on-screen caption read ‘POV you chose the ‘mystery car’ from the Avis car rental’ as she revealed what it was they had given her.

While the mystery car element is part of the fun of choosing it, Annie, and no doubt many of us, probably didn’t expect what she got.

What was the mystery car that Avis gave Annie?

As it turned out, the company had given Annie the keys to a giant 12-seater minivan.

The van was based on the Ford Transit, with this particular version a large people carrier.

Annie was clearly quite surprised and took pictures of her inside and outside the van.

Her interior image shows the three rows of seats behind her.

Another has the caption:

“I give you: the 12-person transit van.”

Annie didn’t reveal why exactly she needed a rental car.

However, judging by her surprise, she probably wasn’t expecting a van.

It did seem quite excessive given she appeared to be out and about by herself.

Avis offers more than one passenger van

The rental company’s website states that they offer the Ford Transit passenger van, as well as the Chevrolet Express.

Annie is probably happy she didn’t get the Chevy, as that has seating for up to 15 people!

The mystery car option from the company is an interesting way of getting a rental car.

It cautions this by saying that the ‘mystery car may be gas, hybrid, or EV, or similar.’

So it really could be anything that you get your hands on.

However, it does feel like offering a passenger van as a mystery car is a little bit on the silly side.

But conversely, if you are going to offer a mystery car, getting a van is one very big surprise!

Avis certainly fulfilled the brief when Annie got her hands on the Ford Transit.
