Tennis ace Emma Raducanu has given her fans a hotly-anticipated update after it was alleged that Porsche ‘took back’ her 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet worth over $160,000.

With a Porsche sponsorship deal, the 2021 US Open champion has been a brand ambassador since 2022.

Her latest social media post put rumors to bed that her relationship with the luxury brand is ‘heading to the scrapyard’.

It simply featured a parking bay and a two-word caption.

Reports swirled last month that her Porsche had ‘taken away’ the British tennis player’s Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet worth over $160,000.

In 2022, Emma Raducanu was named a global brand ambassador for Porsche following her the year before.

She was gifted the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet in 2022 as a gift to celebrate her deal with Porsche following her 2022 US Open victory the year before.

While it was said to have been ‘pride of place at her home’, the world-ranked No.58 was spotted on a London Bus.

Cue troll speculation that the German automobile manufacturer had withdrawn its financial backing due to not getting value for money.

However, a spokesperson for the luxury brand was quick to put an end to that narrative: “Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022.

“We are very happy with our partnership.”

Her clap back

While Raducanu has already spoken out with a post taken seemingly inside the cabin of the car in question, this latest Instagram story is hopefully the concrete evidence needed to stop fan tongues wagging.

It’s a picture that appears to show the Porsche Cayenne that Raducanu has been seen driving around in.

The nearly $130,000 car is sitting in a parking bay, simply captioned: “Good day.”

She also owns a humble Dacia Sandero that she appears to use as a backup car.

Raducanu is not alone in her car sponsorship.

David Beckham, for example, is a brand ambassador for Maserati, and he was able to design his own MC20.

Maserati even launched a limited-edition collection designed by Beckham.

All Supercar Blondie contributors undergo editorial review and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and authority in automotive journalism. After gaining her BA Hons in French and English at the University of Nottingham, Amelia embarked on a vocational diploma from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). This led to numerous opportunities, from interning at Vogue to being on the small team that launched Women’s Health magazine in the UK, which was named the PPA Consumer magazine of the year for three years running. As Health, Beauty and Fitness editor, Amelia personally received a Johnson & Johnson Award and was shortlisted for both PPA and BSME titles. Since then, Amelia has created content for numerous titles and brands, including the Telegraph, 111 Skin, Waitrose, Red magazine, Stylist, and Elle, as well as being Head of Content at Vitality and Editor in Chief at INLondon magazine. “My superpower is translating technical jargon about the mechanical workings of a supercar into a relatable story you’ll want to share with your friends after you’ve read it.” After joining the SB Media family as a senior journalist in September of 2023, Amelia’s role has evolved to see her heading up the SEO output of the editorial team. From researching the most ‘Google-able’ key terms to producing evergreen content - it’s been a time of hard work, growth, and success for the editorial team and the Supercar Blondie website. “I like to think of myself as a ‘method journalist’. In other words: I live and breathe whatever I am writing about. When writing about fitness, I trained as a personal trainer, and as a beauty editor, I completed an ‘expert’ in scent diploma with the Fragrance Foundation. “During my tenure at Supercar Blondie, however, I did something I never thought possible: I passed my driving test at the age of 36. One day I’d love to train as a mechanic to better understand what happens under the hood, too. “My sweet spot is providing readers with a ‘takeaway’ (read: something new they didn’t know before) after reading every one of my stories. While I don’t claim to be an expert in the automotive world, I know the experts and bodies in the field to rely on to provide our readers with an informative and thought-provoking story every time they visit the site.”
