Pop royalty Janet Jackson could have chosen any car, but she decided on a 1948 Chrysler DeSoto Suburban Custom Taxi.
Known as being part of the Jackson family and gracing the stage with pop hits, the star had ample opportunity to build an impressive car collection.
But, in unexpected circumstances, she opted for a car under the radar.
The vintage cab was chosen as part of her fleet, and it had rather an impressive look.

Many celebrities are known for their lavish car collections – from supercars to classic vintage vehicles. Many even have airplanes and superyachts thrown in too,
For example, John Cena has a fascinating car collection with some rare gems, including a supercar that’s faster than the Bugatti Chiron.
Plus, Dolly Parton has a famous Cadillac, and that’s only the tip of the classy collection that she owns.
But one popstar has a rather unexpected car under their belt.
Janet Jackson has had many hits and has no doubt earned some big bucks, meaning she could have had her pick of any car.

But, she picked one vintage Chrysler taxi to add to her collection. A 1948 Chrysler DeSoto Suburban, to be exact.
“American Classic car DeSoto Suburban was first made in the USA post World War Two in 1946, modeled on the car manufacturer’s previous long wheelbase DeSoto cars,” Oxford Diecast said on tits website.
And, the cab was spacious, with the opportunity to fit many members of Janet’s entourage in, with some even having a roof luggage rack.

Under the hood proved special too, with an alleged straight-six engine that pumped out as much as 100HP when cruising around.
Think back to the 1940s – a cab ride was seen as a fun, luxurious way to travel about, way before the days of booking and waiting on the side of the street for an Uber to pick you up.
And the Chrysler Taxi oozes elegance and timelessness to boot.

Most celebrities often choose more modern cars for their drivers, but, like Janet Jackson, a select few give classics a new home.
Take Sydney Sweeney, for instance; she has a love of classics, even restoring her own Ford.
Another famous gearhead, both on and off the F1 racing track, Charles Leclerc, recently added a flashy Ferrari Purosangue to his ever-growing collection, too.
Would you opt for a vintage classic like Janet, or perhaps choose a more modern speedy auto?
