A famous friend’s close encounter with Steve Jobs revealed his very last dying wish was related to his superyacht.
The Apple founder had been designing and decking out his superyacht named Venus for quite some time.
After becoming seriously ill with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer he had one final dying wish.
It was all about setting sail and tackling the ocean in style.

Apple founder Steve Jobs had quite a need for speed, both on the road and offshore.
In fact, to get the ball rolling on the famous iMac, he even sold his Volkswagen Bus for $1,300 so he could create the first Apple Computer – talk about commitment.
He also loved a classic supercar – with the mastermind replacing his beloved Porsche 911, every six months for years.
But, the real apple of his eye was his superyacht Venus.

When it came to being waterborne, Jobs really did know his stuff.
His $120 million superyacht was top-notch and expertly designed throughout.
The boat was named Venus by the tech mogul and was first commissioned in 2008 – almost two decades ago.
So, when the time came to discuss his wishes before he passed, he confided in none other than Bill Gates – who was once his bitter rival.

The men, who were pitted against each other professionally, had a heart-to-heart where Jobs revealed that his one dying wish was to set sail on his Venus superyacht.
Gates visited Jobs at his home in May 2011 and had a meaningful chat.
Sadly though, it never came to be, as Jobs died on October 5 2011.
What features does the superyacht have?
The huge vessel is 78 meters long and can house up to 12 guests and 22 crew.
Its impressive exterior features glass walls and a minimalistic approach – much like many of Apple’s products which are inspired by the same principle.

It’s rumoured to be worth a whopping $120 million and began construction in 2009 before Jobs passed away in 2011.
The yacht – which was designed by designer Philippe Starck – still remains in the Jobs family to this day, with his wife Laurene Powell Jobs taking ownership.
She is currently situated in West Palm Beach in Florida.
The question on everybody’s lips though – will Apple venture into the water world after their founder’s love for setting sail?
Given that the Apple car never came to fruition – get it? – we doubt they’ll be entering the yacht space any time soon.
